Island Park, ID

We started our Summer kick off with a little stay in Island Park/Yellow Stone.
If you ever get the chance to visit Bear World (on the way to West Yellow Stone) it might very well be worth your time. I had visions of it being like the movie, "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy and Dan Akroid. You know, with the bears sitting on top of our car and Trent willingly feeding them candy bars. It wasn't quite like that, Darn. You drive your car through a fenced off area that has 45 black bear, a few grizzlies, some wolves, buffalo and a rare white elk. All this, followed up with a bizarre petting zoo and a redneck theme park made for a perfect rest stop on our road trip.

That is my sister's car in front of us,
we really wanted the bear to taste some bike tire but
he wasn't interested... it would have really spiced up
my blog.

Bear World Petting Zoo

Emmy was in heaven, she touched every animal
she could get her little hands on.

The best laugh of the trip was watching Tate's face when he
went on the berry bounce ride. You would have thought he was
plummeting to his death.

Henry loved it too!

Anytime I pulled out my camera Tate would
ask if I would take a picture of him and Beth...sure Tate.

Then we were off to our cabin in the woods...more goods to come soon!
