Sundancing

Move over Ansel Adams...Okay, maybe not, we are just digging the
Fall splendor around here!
We took our kids up to Sundance and did an unplanned hike
to Stuart Falls (4 miles) round trip. Trent and I were
sharing in the proud parent moment for sure.
There is something about a nature walk that brings
out the "talky, talky".
I had a lot of good smiles on the trail.
Emmy told me about a little boy named "Axton"
in her class that has purple hair, beaver teeth
 and walks around hitting everyone.
She also told me she was learning so much at school,
when I asked what? She said, "I am learning about gum, and doggies!"
When the trail got a little long she said,
"I really wish I had a hang glider".
(She is a smart cookie and has her Daddy's high endurance:)
Tate Took to the trail at a full on run, if you know Tate that is
VERY abnormal, especially because he did it in cowboy boots. Nature unleashed the boy in him, he told me he
needed to get to the waterfall so he could put
his head in the water and cool down.
All was going well until we had to start back for the car, he started saying things like,"I REALLY need a stroller."
and "OH, I wish I were in a wheel chair"...
this boy is mine, all mine.

Sydney aka Mother Hubbard! When Tate and Emmy started
whimpering about the hike back Sydney reminded
them of the "consequence of their choice; You guys chose to go ALL the way to the waterfall and now you are going to have to deal with the hike back." Thank you Syd, could not have said it better myself. Syd is slow and steady and very much a NON complainer.
She told me it was the best day of her life. WOW...easy to pleasy.

This has to be the best time of year!
Way to go Savage kiddies.

Gooseberry

This man would have been an awesome pioneer!
With a little help from a man toy....

I was so impressed with his wood hauling technique,
 as was his fan club!

I think any of the Savage sisters would agree that
when you go camping with a Savage man
he is going to take good care of you, at least until he pops an
Ambien to go night- night and your are left alone to freeze! Just laying there wondering
why on earth you decided to be such a cool wife.
Good thing it was just an overnighter and that T-man
looks really good in flannel. Not to mention makes a pretty, darn good
camp cook.

This is campground- Gooseberry (Fairview UT)
Go ahead and say "Gooseberry" with out smiling:)

Trent's favorite time of year to camp is the Fall.
Sorry Babe, Mommy cold. The kids did not seem to mind the fresh air.
Oh, and in my world bandanas are still really COOL.

Love this one...

Here is what I will remember about this weekend:
Trent teaching our kids songs around the camp fire.
The mountains provide a unique peace.
That my kids don't need toys to be happy.
The vibrant colors of Fall are my favorite.
Something special about a campfire, pine trees and stars.
AND
That I LOVE spending time with my little family.

EM

The littlest friend of ours turned four this week. WHAT?
Emmy:
*Loves her carrot blanky more than anything in this world. It has tiny carrots all over it, use
to be the color of peach but now has taken on lots of interesting shades.
*She is our family snuggler.
*She wants to name her first child Bubblegum.
*She wants her hair in braids or ponytails EVERY DAY.
*She loves playing "Dr." especially with her cousin Hen (yikes).
*IF we ever get a dog it will be because of Em, totally obsessed with them.
*Foods-cheese quesadilla's, gum, popsicle's, gum, broccoli, gum and more gum.
*Always willing to be the "pretend Mom" for Sydney and Tate...this game always confuses me.
*wheres a swimsuit every day of her life.
*Has the most energy I have ever seen in one cute little body....she looks like she
is going to explode at anytime, our family firecracker!

 WE LOVE YOU EM!

The special day-was filled with a trip to Em's class, some play time at Mcdonalds,
a visit from Grandma Linda, some sweet present opening...
and her #1 request, purple cupcakes with gumballs.
Miss Korbi

Gum!

A few flash back photos...Dang, time flies.
