A Rumble in the Bumble

Round two,
Another fun day in the "Bumble Bee"!
We went  from Wallsburg to Daniels Summit Lodge~
You should order a Summit burger! They are rad and have hardly
any calories, just kidding, but they are worth every single stinking one.

Here are my boys getting ready to chow....
The exciting news of this ride, which is probably not new news because I have
told EVERYONE, is that we saw a bear...a for real BEAR!
After our yummy lunch we headed up above the lodge (which is near Strawberry Reservoir)
and in the middle of the dirt road we saw a big black bear. I was driving and slammed on
the breaks, Trent and I both started screaming "bear", which made the kids start crying (note to self for next time we see a big animal :) Trent and I were so excited, I tried to grab my camera but it took
off too fast. Any ways, it was cool and I have zero proof other than my children's
emotionally scars that they will probably carry for life.
Sorry kiddies.

Oh Tate

We had the "dumb & dumber" smile at our house last week.
Man, and I totally have to take all the blame for this. When I was washing
his hands at the sink he couldn't reach all the way, I gave an extra little pull on his
hands to make up the difference and his mouth hit the edge of the counter. I felt like the loser Mom of
the year. I did not see the damage right away, it was about a half hour later that Tate told me his
tooth was loose. He smiled really big and I was dieing.
After he checked himself out in the mirror, he kept doing crossed eyes and goofy faces.
I almost debated on not getting it fixed because it provided us with with such great entertainment!
~The Dude is looking a lot better.

We've Got Spirit!

My boy's got spirit!
Tate was jazzed about crazy hair day, I would have put my
bet on Emmy but she wanted nothing to do with
one of my favorite days of the year.

The Dude was so stoked about his style
that he kept it going for family night.
We took the kids on a hike up Battle Creek
Tate got some great looks, we may
have bordered the line of white trash.
When we would pass people on the trail, I felt I had to
say..."spirit week", really loud.
Looking back, I should have claimed his rad look with pride.

School Wrap Up!

Syd throwing down some serious hokey pokey~Dance Festival
I feel like I am officially part of the "Mom Team"!
I have always looked at Mom's and thought, why are they acting
so busy? What do they have going on in life that isn't sweeping up
a few cheerios and looking forward to "play dates" just to get some adult
conversation. Okay, and maybe juggling a few doctor appointments.
I think I get it now that we have three kids in school/preschool.
I keep hearing how crazy the month of May is, I am a believer.
I have ran from one event to the next. I kind of feel cool, like, look at me so supportive, what a rad Mom-Yeah!
And then I come home to our house that has not had much attention and I am reminded that I am
not the rock star that I thought. Dang.
BUT who cares because,
I am totally apart of the "Mom Team,"
Rock on Moms!

Kids Village Graduation,
loved seeing the kiddies in their cap and gowns.
The two best parts of their big day was watching Tate walk
the red carpet. He was smiling so big he did not see the
microphone pole and went over the top of it.
Tate, you are RAD.
The next best part was watching Emmy flip her tassel
in circles during their whole entire singing program. I am pretty sure
I could hear her giggling over the singing.
Thanks for keeping it FUN Emmy.
Tate & Mrs. Korbi

Our little graduate

The Bumble

New family fun. This thing makes me smile every time we go for a ride. I don't know if it is
seeing our kids with their helmet bobble heads or just the beautiful scenery and the thrill of the ride.
Trent called it "MY" Mothers day gift....of course!
I guess it is a step up from the fishing pole and sub zero sleeping bag.

The bobble heads...

Our first big ride was Midway to Mineral Basin.

Funny!

Not so funny, was getting stuck on our first maiden voyage.
Trent had to put the wench to use. He made up for it
with some ice cream at the Train Burger in Heber.
 Rad Dad.

We had a blast, my favorite part is when Tate would tap us on the
back as we were riding and say..."I don't want to go home yet!"
Over and over and over. Loud and clear Tate!

A "Little" Hike

When Cassie suggested a "little" hike I should have clued in
and knew that it would be a fanny kicker. Everything she
does is border line psycho, she is not happy unless she
gets to the vomit stage of any activity. All I can say is she is one good sister,
she spent a good part of the hike literally pushing me from behind (it would have made for
some awesome photos). Despite all the hard work we had so much fun on our 4 hour hike via Grove Creek to Battle Creek.

Cassie (my sister) & Ryan.

Our boys relaxing at the spring on the face of Timp.

My cute hiking man...

Thanks for our first big hike of the season Farleys!

If one is GOOD, two is BETTER!

I call that the, "Are you serious?" look.  My Dad surprised my
Mom with a wiener dog for Mothers day. And if you think
she looks happy about one...you should have seen her face when
he pulled out # 2.
My parents have had miniature dachshand's as long as I can remember.
I guess he thought it was a good time to bring back the wiener dog days!
My Mom's famous words have always been, "If one is good, two is better!"

Happy Mothers Day!

Train Ride

Train Gang!
Syd's first grade class did a walking field trip for one "super exciting" train ride.
I was so happy to be able to go with her, it is hard when you have two little friends at home still.
I loved that she did not let go of my hand for the whole afternoon, (I wonder when that changes?)

Loading the train, imagine going in circles around somebodies yard. That is what put the "exciting" in this ride. It didn't really matter because the best part of our day was spending some good one on one time with Sydney! And you know how I love her shirt :)

Tulip Fest

 Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival.
This was totally FUN!
It made me want to go home and beautify our yard (it was short lived).
Grandma Linda joined us!

Fellow Utahn's have probably done this a few
times. It was a first for us, and
will definitely be going back!

The Mother~Linda

 LINDA LOO-
A bit late on this post but a shout out to Momma Linda!
Linda has raised seven great children, I feel like she has
done such a wonderful job on teaching her children the importance of
serving others, instilling good work habits, and the value of doing the job right the first time.
Thank you Linda, for all you do and have done for each of us!

Linda's favorite treat is Magelby's chocolate cake!

The party set up....

When I asked Linda what advice she would like to leave with
her posterity she said,

"Always be kind to everyone  because we are all brothers
and sisters in our Heavenly Fathers kingdom."

Linda, Thanks for your great example of service!
Thanks for raising wonderful kids....especially #7, he's my favorite :)

AHOY~ We Have a 5 Year Old!

Our Boy turned 5!
And, since he loves a good dress up, we went with a pirate theme this year.
There is no one that makes us laugh like this kid. He is sugar and spice, all in one
little boy package.

Tater's favorite things in life our Lego's, weapons,
pbj's, chocolate milk, cookies, scooter, a good
costume and his DADDY! Tate is always the first one up
to see his Dad before he heads out the door for
work.  He gives Trent at least 10 hugs a day! It is the cutest thing
I have ever seen.

He loves a good Grandma Linda love....

The crew of pirates!
Tate did not want a big birthday party, his list was:
Beth
Benson
&
Uncle Troy.
We had to make some modifications and came up with
a couple of cousins.

Making Maps-
Adding some authenticity

Tate and Benson,
okay, this kid is funny
and I know why Tate idolizes him.

Finding their treasure & loot!

Tate's dinner request was waffles!
Since Grandpa George is the best waffle maker ever,
we had him whip up a few.
He makes a pretty good pirate too!

I can't decide what my favorite gift of the night was.
Aunt Mindy asked what Tate liked and I told her "Squinkies"
She thought I said Twinkies.
She also came through with some sweet swords!
But, the Iron Man mask made me smile!

Happy Birthday TATE! You are so fun, funny
and truly one cool Dude!

PS Our sweet Jeanie (Filipino helper) and Tate share the same birthday love her!
