Candy Cane Classic

Syd's first Gymnastic Performance-The Candy Cane Classic!
She was a little nervous because she
joined a couple of months ago. I am not sure why
because she slayed the beam!

Way to go Syd! We are so proud of you!

Savage Night

There are a couple things in this mans life that make
him smile...don't think naughty.

His kiddies, his way cool wife
AND
his MOMMA!

Our adult party for the Savages was this past weekend.
We did not have a huge turn out, but we did have
good times.
I admit, when I look through my blog it is a bit "Shoell" heavy,
so I am thrilled to get to put some Savage love in here.
With our kids we tried the whole, "Stay in your room and don't come out unless you see blood!"-
but that lasted about two minutes before we saw them. Not because blood was shed but
because these kids wanted their Aunties sweet loves.
Syd, Aunt Cec and Em..with her rad hair of course.
Em is also sporting Cec's jewelery.

Aunt Cari giving Em the sweetest loves ever.

 This is our Savage Family!
(Syd) Troy, Cari,Todd, Cecily,
Linda and Trent.
It was fun to hear some of their favorite traditions and memories
from their childhood. Troys Memory was sitting on the hearth
getting Christmas Eve pictures....
Todd, Lorrie, Lisa, Terrence, Troy, Ty and Trent.
Christmas 1973

And then....Bring on the white elephant Baby!
Linda is always up for a good game.

I had to add these few because, I was loving that
Cari was about to be the proud new owner of
this...
Cari your face is priceless!
We loved having a few of the Savage siblings over
thanks for a great night!

Sick?

So, the other night around 1:00 AM this little rocker woke me up screaming her pretty little eyes out.
I did the mad dash up the stairs thinking she probably dropped one of her five thousand
stuffed animal toys that she
sleeps with, she has a keen sense when one has tumbled off her bed.
But what I heard was her howling, "I hate applesauce!"
Confused, I turned on her lamp only to find Em
trying to snooze in her puke...applesauce puke.
I made applesauce from morning until night, just for the record I am not sure
I will ever take that project on again! Not just because I am permanently scarred from cleaning
up Em's applesauce but because it is a ridiculous amount of work.
I got her cleaned up and back to bed, with
no further incidences.
The next morning she came down happy as a lark with a request for
Marshmallows and cream soda.
Typically I would say, No Way Hosea...(I mean, that can't be a good follow up on the tummy, not to mention it would probably jeopardize me getting Mother of the Year.)
BUT
her cuteness got the best of me and I gave in. Luckily she held it together and seems to
have made a full recovery.
Em, your as crazy as your Momma!

Lights

We kicked off our night at the Crown Burger, I think everyone in Utah
had the same idea. These guys were so darn giddy about seeing lights, it was
worth the mad house.
I had this happy girl by me...

And here we are, the crayola crayon crew. My goal was to get the
temple in the background but after several failed attempts we
settled for this.
I love this one...

Em, with the "I am freezing, fake smile and why
is Tate in my stroller?" look.

It was fun to share this tradition with our kids...it has been such
a long time since we have been up to see the Temple Square lights.
In the time that we were shuffling three cold kids through
the chaotic crowds, I thought to myself
"is this worth the effort?"

We have come to the conclusion that
yes!
Fighting the crowds and cold, is worth  all the effort in the world.
Especially when it opens the door for Trent and I to testify of
our Saviors love for them and the importance of his birth.

My Family

Trent and I decided since we have not been home
in years for Christmas that we would really utilize every oppertunity to
have family gatherings...honestly, we love every minute.
This is my siblings adult dinner party!

We played a killer fun white elephant game.
Some serious ugliness was passed around.

Angie scored this beauty...

And Cassie...got the angel, which is way
more ridiculously ugly in person.

Thanks for the great night fam!

Kids Village Christmas!

AND THAT,
pretty much sums it up!
Syd is supporting her candy cane smoke, Emmy her giant gumball (in one swift bite)
and Tate with a chocolate chip cookie.
If I have not raved about Kids Village enough, I should...this place is the next best
thing to Disney Land. And the Savage kids get to go a few times a week.
This is the cute Christmas shenanigan they threw. With the cutest
Santa ever...honestly, he took so much time with each one of our kids.
I thought the Dude might be kind of sick of us,  Thanks Santa, you rock.
Syd's Wish List:
Purple microphone
Webkinz medium sized
(she told me not too big, not too small) butterfly
p.s. those do not exist.
Play mobile school house
Art supplies
Scooter
Tate's Wish List:
 Santa's work shop
(I think he figures if he orders the work shop he has pretty good odds
of getting whatever he wants.)
Legos
D.S.
Scooter
Emmy's Wish List:
D.S.
(the girl is addicted to playing games on Trent's I- Phone).
Babies- any and all.
Doggie (hate to be a dream killer but probably not going to happen.)
Treats but most of all GUM.

This has to be the year of all years for us...
These three are at the perfect age, and
have brought a whole new level of excitement in our
home this season. I love it and wish we could
capture every single moment.
Thank you Kids Village!

Christmas Spirit

It all started when I noticed Em's picture was missing from
the table....

Not missing, just facing the wall. The back wall.
Now that, is some sweet Christmas spirit.
Please tell me that this boy will someday find it
in his heart to be friends with his little sister! Or at least
learn to cope with her picture placed next to his.

Look at him, proud as punch.
That's right, laugh it up punk boy...

I mean, what is not to love about this sweet, sticky face?

"There is beauty all around, when theirs love at home!"

JoY

I love this time of year!
Sundays have been our day that we usually
have shared with friends, now that we are home, we
have really tried to make it a day to share with our family.
This is Trent's brothers family and Grandma Susan we were so happy
to have them join us.  Their is not much I love more than having a full house!

Look at these cute kids!
Tate, Tamz, Tay, and Sydney

This is my REALLY cute  nephew Talon...
I all ready have dibs on him for Beth!
Grandma Susan was kind enough to bring and share...moment of silence, her
homemade strawberry jam. Thanks for coming Savages, it is our JOY!

The Hen

We had the pleasure of having The Hen (Henry) over
for a play date. He loved our rocking dog.
I realize that every time you see Em her hair is not done...I don't
really have a good excuse, so just enjoy!

Water color, Hen kept drinking his paint water
so we decided it was chocolate milk time.

With the king of chocolate milk...
I am trying to win the Hen over, ever since I watched him
for a weekend I am not his favorite person.
Thanks for coming to play Hen, maybe next time
I'll hook you up with some Mnt. Dew.
