Beach'n it With The Crazies

I would not call February perfect beach weather, but it did not
seem to bother these beach nuts.

The water was ICE cold. ICE.
Syd lost her her front tooth at Aunt Lisa's!

Uncle Jim and Aunt Lisa live across the street from
the beach. What a rad life.
Trent doing sand removal duty.

I love that Lisa (Trent's sis) has kids for our kids to play with.
And other than Emmy and Sophie have no love connection,
the other four play great.  Lisa is an incredible gracious hostess,
especially when her youngest born is getting pounced by Emmy.
The kids had so much fun that Tate said he was not coming home
with us. We had to bribe him by packing his toys in the car.

 The Kellys

While everyone else was shedding tears for California, Em
was saying "take my picture, take my picture!"
We love the Cali and can not wait for our next trip.

The Adventure

Congrats to Em for barley clearing the 40 inch mark!
She was put to the test
all day, she got really good at tipping her chin and puffing up her chest.
This little girl has the spirit of adventure.

Sydney rivals for the tittle pretty hard. She did every ride that
she could, even tower of terror! What a crazy.

We were even able to pull Tate away from the characters
long enough for a couple of rides.
Rock on! Theme park junkies!

The Happiest Place On Earth

I wish we could live here, I would be guaranteed
happy kids every day from morning until night,
with just a few theme park melt downs here and there. I could totally
handle life. Hey, and Disney is always better with a couple of cute cousins!

We better start from the beginning....
Tate was set on Pirates for our first ride of the day, he even packed his pirate hat
and eye patch for some added effects. He should have passed because it took all
but 30 seconds on the boat for him to not be a pirates fan.

But my favorite line of the trip that came out of this boy's
mouth was at a rest stop in St. George.  He pointed at a gas
station attendant's face and said, "Hey, you don't have any eyebrows!"
She kind of did a half giggle  and said "No, I don't."
I was dying. I pretended I did not hear what he said and
said in my nice mom voice,"Tate come here".
I am still cringing over this one. Cringing.

Emmy was just tall enough for all the fun rides,
I spoke her for splash mountain. She loved it.
Until she got wet. Dang, I thought this was the happiest
place on earth?

Usually the lines are too long and we skip the flying
Dumbos but February is a great time to visit.
Trent and the girls.

I can not imagine a better trip to Disney. Our kids were eating it up.
I think it is because they are still in the "is that for real?" stage of life.

Tate was not a huge fan of the rides...but the
Dude fell in love with the characters. Especially with Minnie.

Having Lisa and the kids join us made our day at Disney
perfect. Sydney held Tommy's hand the entire day, what a cool
cousin!

Land of Disney

For Valentines we surprised our kids and, in the words of Johnny Biscuit,
"We went to the land Disney, to meet the Mouse Mickey!"

We had to wake the sweet hearts up early so that
Trent could take part in the "surprise" before going to work.
I kind of felt bad, look at these sleepy heads....

Complete with Mickey Mouse pancakes....

As soon as they figured out that we were going to the D-Land,
Emmy said, "I hate this stupid house!"
She was ready to get the
heck out of here.  Happy Valentines little Savages!

Smart Dinner

When the Smarts invite you to dinner, you
better count yourself one lucky family.
Because you are going to be having some kind of
"meat fest".  I remember hanging out with Beetles family, back in the day.
I'm not sure I was ever at there house with out seeing pile of barbequed pork chops,
ribs, crab legs, steak or even roasted rabbit. It was always fun to see what the Ricker (Beetles Dad) was
cooking up.  I always love that my very, veggie- loving sister married into this family!

Trent has been traveling, so I appreciated the invite...but I think my
kids were even more thrilled!
Blanket huts, root beer floats and of course, all you can eat steak.
Smarts know how to party for sure.

And, one of my favorite Smarts...
ps his shirt  says it all....Wilder than Fords!

Mr. Winter

This is what our winter months have come to.
Practicing our calendar shots with a cute, half naked male nurse.

Really, thank goodness for my high school gals to brighten up the
winter with a little night out on the town.
I probably revert back to high school really quick when  we get together,
maybe even Jr. high status. But man, these ladies can sure make me laugh.

And finally, to spice up our winter, I surprised Trent
with a little overnight getaway. We went up to Daniel Summit
Lodge. We ate truck driver food, watched some good old
fashioned VHS and snowmobiled until my loves heart
was content. It was so fun to
hear him make his "war cries"  as he would plow through
snow drifts. I love this Dude.
