The Trip

Barcelona Bound!
The one and probably only perk to all the travel that Trent does for work is that
he has plenty of frequent flyer miles, sometimes he shares. We left our kiddies for
10 days and loved every single one of them. When people ask us if it is hard to leave our
kids? Sure, until we get on the plane and break into a total happy dance.

Ridiculous....and I love it.

We left Friday morning and got to Barcelona Saturday morning.
We hit the city hard, fast and a little groggy. The reason we chose Spain is because we
have had a horse ride in the Pyrenees mountains on our bucket list. Not very many peoples idea
of a good time maybe....but I so dig that Trent loves these kind of things as much as me.
Here are a few million pics of Barcelona....we loved it, and were not even a city folk.
I loved the over all feeling in this city, the sights, sounds, smells
and the quiet, laid back nature of the Spaniards.

(I was so hoping Trent would bust a move like this on the trail)

La Sagrada Familia (The Holy Family)
One of the most inspiring buildings
I have ever seen. It truly testifies of Christ life and mission.
It had both Trent and I  aw struck. Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí started this project 1892 and it has been more or less under continuous construction for well over a century. Pictures never seem to
serve justice, right?

We learned quick that tomatoes, bread and some kind of cheese
are served at EVERY meal! Sweet, I can hang with that diet.

After lunch we headed to the "park of Gaudi" it overlooks the city.
Primarily carved out of sand stone, awesome!

Musicians could be found through out the park, strumming light
Spanish tunes.

Mime
This must be some kind of Spanish sport/entertainment
-fun to watch.

Sweet ending to a sweet day!
We were totally wiped out. One thing that we had a hard time getting use to is
the afternoon "siestas".  Every thing shuts down in the middle of the day and then opens in the evening again. Dinner starts 8,9 or even 10 pm...ouch.
Buenas noches!
