Road to Hana...Crazy Right?

The Road to Hana!
For years I have heard how rough this car ride can
be, we decided that the year I am five months pregnant and
have three young kids along with us that we should take advantage of this challenge.
WE DID IT!
It's not as bad as the stories that go with it, maybe pounding down local banana bread and stopping
for hikes along the way helped.

Black Sand Beach

When things got a little crazy in the car we just handed
Tate a stamp and let him go for it. He came out of
the SUV with stamps all over his body...made for some beautiful
snap shots, don't you think?

We stopped for fish tacos at this quiet little beach...totally awesome!

Seven Sacred Pools

Syd let a complete stranger help her across, she was the first
one to jump in and go for it. This place was a bit crowded for my liking
but is was cool to see.

Grandpa George really wanted to see Charles Lindbergh's grave
(first man to fly across the Atlantic Ocean).
I'm not sure what gets him excited about these kind of things but
Yeah! We found it.
It really was a beautiful place.

The kids got their dreams when Trent was finally able to find a vine
for them to swing from, they learned that Tarzan makes it look easy.
So we survived the road to Hana, and if their was a T shirt big enough for my pregnant
belly I would wear it every day with pride!

More Maui Love

Another day in paradise!

This never gets old to me, order a few pina coladas and I am one happy Momma.
Beach, pool, beach and a few snacks in between kept the kiddies happy all day long.

Good that Grandpa George was willing to get in the hot tub...Em's favorite place.

I know this is probably true for most people but I love this guy on
vacation! He is up for anything anytime...I'm going through withdrawals this
week while he is back at work.

Tate could have spent the whole week at the pirate ship pool!

Syd made a little friend (of course), she was from Washington too.
They spent the entire day together, her
favorite thing was the Fishpipe, it looked more like torture to me.

Em's favorite part of the day was the cabana. A girl after my own heart!

Kemo's is my favorite place to eat in Lahina, It was so fun to share it
with the kiddies.

Blow Hole

The view from our balcony. I think I was born a beach lover!

Lunch time!
Not sure how Syd could stand to wear a jacket, maybe
she thought the weather was chilly compared to the Philippines?

We talked the kids into taking a ride to find the famous "blow  hole" of Maui...
Although, I am not sure how famous it is being that it took us a whole afternoon to find it.
Grandma Gaye joined but she is not a huge fan of nature walks :) We saw more whales
this trip than ever before. The force must be with you when your large with child!

  I love you Dude.

There she blows! (well kind of).
The kids loved the hike down, Tate had to take Happy the frog
from his class room as an assignment.
What a lucky frog.

I love eating in Maui....this baby may come out with some severe defects
due to the amount of fish I put down all week. One night we tried a pizza
place and ordered the "special"...Jalapeno and chicken on top of pineapple barbecue sauce!
It was as bad as it sounds.

The crab salad and sunset view made up for it.

Tate, with his nightly "I can no longer function"
look.
